The Twentieth Century are an experimental duo from Vienna whose music is a cocktail of ambient, sound collage and electro-acoustic improvisation. Cellist Lukas Lauermann and guitarist Pieter Gabriel create and manipulate their sets live from beginning to end - without hiding behind laptops or anonymous canned sounds. Each of their real-time ambient live sessions, created using analogue instruments and an armada of effects pedals, produces a unique tonal piece which, depending on the direction it takes, can throw up references to Stars Of The Lid, Sunn O))) or ambient-godfather Brian Eno. In their more oblique moments they even reveal themselves as disciples of early tone artists like Luigi Russolo or John Cage - a kind of ad-hoc aural cinema.
JACKIE TRISTE (HU)
Jackie Triste is the endlessly reanimated pseudo of the artist Péter Szabó, co-founder of performance-noise band Alergische Platze on end of 90s, and the Ovekk_Finn duo in 2004.
Jackie Triste is his last sound solo-project since 2008, making improvised music using an amplified metal box and guitar-pedals.
ZOSIMA (ES)
Despite being a young project (created in 2013), Zosima is the final product of a musical immersion, that has been moving around the electronics since the late 90. Thought to be focused on the different faces of techno, he defines a message based on dark and hypnotic elements in combination with more industrial and experimental sounds.
The renowned dutch label Dynamic Reflection took in his debut in 2013. Afterwards additional EPs came out in labels such as Vizion Division (FR) or Serial Number 849 (SP). He is the co-founder of the imprint Noiztank, which will see their first releases for the second semester of 2014.
TRANSFORMER MUSIC (AT)
TRANSFORMER is a " Pop-Up Store" in the literal sense (the respective location is becoming a TRANSFORMER within minutes, with record boxes, tape case and fanzines popping up). It serves as a temporary platform for newly discovered independent productions in the fields of music and print, as a café and function room it is a hub for the DIY community. Cultural producers come over to bring their publications, exchange ideas with other guests, establish new collaborations - TRANSFORMER provides the infrastructure.
At Klub Moozak the TRANSFORMER team will spin the decks, conjuring up rarities, oddities and treasures from the deep abyss of their music collection!
TRANSFORMER is particularly interested in the principles of " Do-It- Yourself", self-empowerment and upcycling: for them, manual production ranges above industrial production and determines the guiding principle to select the supply.
The musical offering consists of a conscious and the clearly arranged selection of sound recordings that are purchased directly from the producer and artists , and not through the mediation of major international distributors. Thus, the TRANSFORMER receives a musical profile and the exclusivity of a record store, that fills gaps in the music catalog of Vienna .
