The protagonist of this documentary, by Canadian director Barry Stevens, is Luis Moreno-Ocampo, the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague. In the 1980s, he worked as a prosecutor in Argentina in trials of the country`s former military leaders. Now, however, he faces a much more difficult task, as the International Criminal Court has very limited authority. Consequently, Moreno-Ocampo cannot do without the help of politicians, which is particularly obvious in the case of the Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, accused of war crimes and genocide, which claimed hundreds of thousands of victims in the Darfur region.

In der Forschungsplattform Human Rights in the European Context haben sich VertreterInnen von 12 Instituten der Uni Wien zusammengeschlossen, um die interdisziplinäre Lehre und Forschung zum Thema Menschenrechte voranzutreiben. Im Rahmen der Veranstaltungsreihe soll mit Hilfe von Dokumentarfilmen menschenrechtliche Herausforderungen aufgegriffen werden und in anschließenden Podiumsdiskussionen analysiert und mit dem Publikum anschließend diskutiert werden.
