Universität für angewandte Kunst

May is the perfect time to think idealistically and ideologically about design. The Institute of Design die Angewandte has invited six designers who use multiple methods and practises, crossing between education, research and design business, to contribute to a discussion about imagination, experimentation and cultural practice. Can design infect reality? Can imagination be influential as an instigator of change?

Konstantin Grcic (*1965) was trained as a cabinet maker at The John Makepeace School (Dorset, England) before studying Design at the Royal College of Art in London.
Since setting up his own practice Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design (KGID) in Munich in 1991, he has developed furniture, products and lighting for some of he leading companies in the design field.

Troika is a London based studio founded by Eva Rucki, Conny Freyer and Sebastien Noel who are widely known for their experimental practise, sculptures, installations and projects that provoke and employ a cross-disciplinary approach and intersect between design, architecture, and contemporary installation.
