Hybrid of Extremes
Michael Rotondi is recognized, locally and internationally as an innovative educator and architect. He has practiced and taught architecture for 30 years, primarily from his base in Los Angeles. He was a founder of 2 international practices, first as a partner of Morphosis, (1975-1991) and RoTo Architects (1991-present). He was a founder and for ten years (1987-1997) the second Director of the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). He is currently on the Board of Trustees and a Distinguished Faculty.
His research and work as a trans-disciplinary educator-practitioner, has given him an open-minded approach which has given him opportunities to work with a diverse range of people, investors, educators, cultural, civic, and government leaders, conservationists, native Americans, and Buddhist Lamas.
The projects are as unique as the personal or working relationships.
