Giorgio Batocci lässt sich bei der Erschaffung seiner Werke von dem Oxymoron ?Mors vitalis? ("der zum Leben gehörende Tod?) inspirieren.
?Was des Einen Tod bedeutet, ist des Anderen Leben? besagt, dass in sozialen und geschäftlichen Beziehungen jedes Ende ein neuer Anfang ist. Ebenso in der virtuellen Realität, in der wir um das Sagen zu haben, unseren alten Account ?töten? und einen neuen an dessen Stelle ?zum Leben erwecken?. Wir müssen also immer wieder fallen, methaphorisch gesprochen ?sterben?, um daraufhin wieder besser leben zu können. Wir müssen uns also in dem Kreis des Lebens bewegen, der letztlich wieder zum Tode führt.
?Mors Vitalis? beschreibt wie alte Gewohnheiten zu Gunsten neuer und innovativer Lösungen weichen.
In seiner Ausstellung arbeitet der Künstler an einem zeitlosen Konzept, das durch seinen symbolischen Stil gekennzeichnet ist.
Die futuristisch reduzierten Figuren des Künstler balancieren zwischen dem sterblichen Leben und dem zum Leben gehörenden Tod.

'Mors Vitalis' is the powerful oxymoron around which Italian artist Giorgio Bartocci chose to paint his artworks for Wien's OXYMORON Galerie.
And if like all others oxymora 'Mors Vitalis' sounds paradoxical, yet its Latin naming sounds really official, truthful and authentic; so this solo-show is all about displaying that timeless concept thanks to the artist's symbolical style. A multifaceted aesthetic which harks back to the 'liquid modernity' idea through its fluid features - almost to highlight the 'modern backwardness' setting the standard of our daily life.
In fact what Giorgio Bartocci takes the cue from to shape his artworks is a 'Mors Vitalis' indeed since in nature what's literally lethal for someone is vital for someone else, then, also in our social and professional relationships every end is a new beginning, likewise in the virtual reality ruling the roost we can 'kill' our social-network-accounts to activate new ones, or as often as we have to fail and metaphorically 'die' to win and live again better, and so on...
Hence this 'Mors Vitalis' represents the continuous cycle of life which has always run this world, leaving behind old habits to embrace new and innovative solutions - threading our way through the 'senseless sense' of the modern times' dynamics. Here's why in 'Mors Vitalis' the artist's 'future primitives' figures float among many of the contemporary oxymora and their paradoxical consequences (which Giorgio Bartocci showcases with several layers of painted and papercut key-details), trying to find the spot-on balance between a mortal life and a vital death.
