Mulabanda is a four-piece band resulting from the encounter of three upcoming young European improvisers based in Brussels with a maverick of the Dutch Underground scene living in Rotterdam.
At their young age the collective experience background of the four musicians is impressive: illustrious collaborations, from Jim O?Rourke, Arve Henriksen (Di Domenico) to Norberto Lobo, Enrico Rava (Lobo), Mark Sanders, Nate Wooley (Martini), Burton Greene, Elliot Sharp (da Silva), recordings with world class labels (Clean Feed, ECM, to name just the most known), extensive tours all round the globe, from most countries of Europe to South Africa, from Japan to Nigeria, Brazil to China, Argentina to the USA…
With their solid experience the four have generated a unique sound that can be heard on the eponymous cd ?Mulabanda? (QuintoQuarto) and their first vinyl ?Lift Your Toes? (QuintoQuarto/Silent Water) which will be released at the end of February 2013.
