“Independence and Self-Organization” an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive:

he Neuer Kunstverein Wien is hosting in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, an intensive course including students from the University of Fine Arts Hamburg, Estonian Academy of Arts, and Malmö Art Academy which will involve interventions in the spaces of the Autohaus Saint Marx.

Working Room is a transmission of an exhibition currently on display at Asortymentna Kimnata, in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, and a continuation of the discussion amongst the participants of the artist-initiated residency.

“It is important for us to work in Ukraine and, being inside, try to reflect on our artistic practice and consider different artistic strategies. One of the most visible approaches in the art of rapid response is to show the image of the victim or the winners. In this context, we think of alternative approaches, which include the actual role of art and the artist as a figure. One of the goals of the residency was to create new material objects that can testify in Ukraine and in the global context.”
