Uncovering the potential of a first district basement: minuszwei
minuszwei is a "forgotten" event space in the basement of a residential building in the city center. In 2019, Dominika discovered it and determined it to be the place that she will rent to host exhibitions. Especially since the pandemic, the demand for off-space exhibitions has increased - minuszwei offers itself for a variety of projects that concern critical and political art.
Josefstadt rear house solo shows: puuul
puuul is located in the rear house in Josefstadt. Once you made your way through the backyard parking lot, the green entrance of the two-story space awaits. While its basement is mainly used for exhibitions, the upper floor contains the artist studio of Hannah Stippl who runs puuul. The space presents six shows per year, focusing on solo exhibitions in order to grant artists the space to present their works in more depth. For openings and performance events, the neighbors are even willing to clear the parking lot, enabling puuul to be a hidden art oasis in the 8th district.
