Patrick Topitschnig is an Austrian filmmaker, photographer, and audio artist.

He studied Intermedia Art and Narrative Film in Vienna and Berlin and has received awards such as the Fred Adlmüller Grant, the Ursula Blickle Grant, and the Austrian State Fellowship for Media Art.

His work focuses on physical experience, perception, and time, often exploring themes of fragmentation and repetition.
He has exhibited internationally in Europe, the USA, and Australia.

“Gemini“ (1996-2025) is a collection of compositions from different musical eras, spanning early riff-based metal tapes to experimental Soundtracks and other sonic explorations. It brings together pieces such as „Gemini“, „Siren II“ and „Lament“ (with Helena Sorokina), alongside „Ammoniak“, „Implosion“, and „Feld“.

“Nouvelle Couleur“ (2005) is a sound composition in three movements, blending live performance with electronic production. Inspired by Luigi Nono’s „La lontananza nostalgica utopica futura“, it layers separately performed instrumental components to create an orchestral effect. The piece is delivered on six-channel tape equipment, enhancing its spatial and immersive sound experience.
