RÜCKBLICK – EINBLICK – VERORTUNG
GROUP EXHIBITION
Currently, Austrian photography is being rediscovered, prompting a critical examination of the country and its sociocultural identities. This exploration delves into themes such as political history, social environments, and urban spaces, often highlighting aspects that were on the verge of fading away. Notably, the contributions of female pioneers, such as Elfriede Mejchar, Inge Morath, Elfie Semotan, and others, are being brought to the forefront and celebrated.
A significant aspect of this rediscovery remains underrepresented: migrant photography.
»Die Bunten« has been actively involved in journalism and editorial work across radio, television, and print media since its inception the late 1970s, highlighting the contributions of migrant artistry within Austrian photography.
