Gwilly Edmondez made an art.
(Statement VII)
Gwilly Edmondez was born in Pen-Y-Bont, South Wales. In 1980 he was a co-founder of Radioactive Sparrow, a pop band who improvised everything because they didn’t realise their favourite bands like Kiss actually wrote their songs before playing them. Ever since then, Gwilly has continued to relentlessly pursue a performance methodology that leaves every possibility as open as possible, remaining rigorously vigilant to to the ubiquitous safety traps of mainstream culture and most of its underground. Consequently Gwilly’s solo shows grab and snatch rudely into the soul of popular entertainment in order to decimate the veneer that hampers its absolute, looking like anything from Richard Prince to Jean Dubuffet crashing into Sun Ra riding a paper dumpster downhill.
Opens 10.11.2012, 2-6pm
Statements is a series of exhibitions curated by PffffffffffffffT.com and the Creative Creationism Club of AfG.
