ASMR of the Future

nadaLokal is happy to have Quim Pujol as a guest for the evening. He will be presenting: ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) is a neologism for a perceptual phenomenon characterized as a distinct, pleasurable tingling sensation in peripheral regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile or cognitive stimuli. This phenomenon emerged in cyberculture, with numerous (often female) ?ASMR artists? trying to trigger this sensation in online videos. In this somatic action, Quim Pujol uses ASMR techniques on a body from the future in order to imagine new corporeal dimensions.

ARTIST
Quim Pujol (Barcelona, 1978) is a writer, curator, and artist. His most recent works are Collective Trance (2014) and ASMR of the Future (2015). He has participated in the exhibitions Allan Kaprow. Other Ways and Interval. Sound Actions, both at Fundació Antoni Tàpies. He has published articles in publications such as ?Rethinking dramaturgy?, ?Efímera? and ?Maska?. With Ixiar Rozas, he co-edited the collection of essays on affect theory ?Ejercicios de ocupación? (Ediciones Polígrafa, 2015). He was curator of Secció Irregular at the Mercat de les Flors from 2011 to 2015.
