Pangani in ritual is a synesthetic performance, which explores possibilities to merge the music of Pangani, with light and smell to create a multi sensory concert experience. Pangani is a live electronic music project by Sebastian Frisch. He plays improvised electronic music, where sound-designed elements meet his “foleyboard?, a self-build percussive synthesizer. It is a sound reactive wood board, on which all kind of objects, like seeds, sand or brushes are used to generate sounds, which are than manipulated to shape morphing sound sculptures. This setup gives him the possibility to play in the moment and bring theatrical elements into his shows. The musical outcome can be placed somewhere between psychedelic dub, ambient and sound art.
Sebastian Frisch researches and creates works as an artist, musician, and developer. He makes use of a diverse set of media technologies to create immersive experiences and discover possible connections between the digital and the palpable. His main interest belong to the fields of sound, space and acoustic ecology. Sebastian studied Sound Art and Computer Science at Salzburg University of Applied Sciences and graduated recently from the ArtScience Master?s program at the Royal Conservatory and the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague.
