“?Builded Body Borrowed? is a voice recording on ideas of the body and writing/painting, body image and bodybuilding, femininity and gender representation in relation to the concept of the ornamental.
Bodybuilding practices are ornamental processes and structures that produce non-linguistic forms of knowledge. They work towards their own end and display, as is the case with traditional ?high? art practices.
But bodybuilding practices vernacularly unfold the ornamental as a giving and receiving of form, and the body-builded body, this body that is only image, problematizes representation and presentation in an image and as an image.
It is this tension, the tension between representation and presentation in an image, that is, what is at stake in painting!?
