A walking tour through Vienna?s most ambitious landscape projects of the late 20th century: Donaupark, a new urban park realized on a former landfill for an international garden show in 1964, and Donauinsel, a a 21 kilometer long artificial island and flood control project of the 1970s and 1980s with enormous relevance for urban recreation and nature. Both landscape projects have gained increased importance since the 1990s due to large-scale urban development nearby. Registration required.
