In her work “(The Window And) The Curtain”, developed for Vienna’s art season, Lena Lapschina guides viewers to a large shop window whose function is obviously to be permeable to the gaze. There is nothing more to be seen than – well, a curtain. What happens behind it remains hidden. Viewers will, as always in such cases, try to interpret the shadows on the fabric. Put their individual filters of expectations, hopes and longings above them. Experience great dramas.
What appears to be an installation in fact is the interior design for a real-world extension of the artist’s latest project: the “Kunst dazu?” home delivery service. Items for order on Lena Lapschina’s social networking channels can be watched here in real size, at least when you exidently passing by, and if you are lucky, you may even gaze at at one or another performance behind the behind the glass surface.
“(The Window And) The Curtain” can be watched in passing daily 24/7 at Kaisermühlenstraße 14 (just some meters from U2 Donaustadtbrücke metro station).
“Kunst dazu?” home delivery service has opened its office at http://www.instagram.com/Lena.Lapschina – come back regularly for new (affordable!) pieces of art (to come with gourment-bonus).
