Introduction by the curator:
Referencing the 1983 comedy-drama film, the exhibition “Terms of Endearment” features artists connected to the ‘global south’ who work within art systems while pushing against its boundaries. Their artwork proposes alternative modes of economy that question if
play and work, desire and survival are in fact oppositional tendencies. As
cryptocurrencies aim to disrupt traditional economies, play, humour,
imagination and bartering are free actions that disrupt ideas of value.
