Jung An Tagen invites us to reflect on the diffuse but persistent term “experimental” not as deviation from aesthetic orthodoxy, but as the design and implementation of compositional systems that offer unpredictable results; “electronic” as an annulment of the previous instrumental tradition, and as a simultaneous reversion towards aesthetic openness; as the fragmentation of a theoretical or mythical musical syntax by obsessive repetition, sequential motivic mutations, aleatoric arrays, pareidolic illusions and moiré effects; “electronic” as the ultimate split, dehumanisation, mechanic strangeness.

Veronika Mayer (AT)
Veronika Mayer is a composer, sound artist and musician in the field of experimental and electronic music. She composes instrumental and electroacoustic works as well as sound installations and performs as a laptop musician in the context of free improvisation. She explores the effect of minimal sound manipulation and the interrelationship of material and space. The thematization of hearing and the creative process itself is characteristic of her work. Natural phenomena and noises serve as the sound basis. In addition to various collaborations, she also teaches at the IEM - Institute for Electronic Music and Acoustics - in Graz and is active in the curatorial team of the Klangmanifeste sound art festival.

Tasos Stamou (UK/GR)
Tasos Stamou is an exploratory music performing and recording artist, a music technologist and a tutor, a studio and radio producer. After migrating in U.K over a decade ago, his electoacoustic music started being inspired by the idea of nostalgia. His latest three electroacoustic composition albums, part of a trilogy of his experimental music with a South East Mediterranean ethnomusicological interest, have captured a wider interest in contemporary electroacoustic music scene and he currently tours with this project. Stamou has performed in Europe and in U.S.A in venues and festivals of innovative music (Bent Festival 2010, Incumbate Festival, Supernormal Festival, Café OTO, Seanaps Festival, The Barbican, etc.). He has over 20 releases in independent music labels (Discrepant, Ikuisuus, Moving furniture etc.). He has collaborated with several veterans of exploratory music, such as Steve Beresford, Anna Homler, Mike Cooper, Savina Giannatou, Adam Bohman. He is signed in Discrepant (UK), Ikuisuus (FL), Moving Furniture Records (NL) and more independent labels. He also runs “Future Folk” radio show in Movement Radio.
