Zu Gast für einen Abend in der Kunsthalle Meidling:
Videopräsentation von Andrea Maio (Milwaukee/USA)
“…there are a few pieces I could do on the 17th.The first is a 10 minute performance/video piece about the Mississippi River project. Its called “Burn This Boat.“Its a kind of love letter to Mark Twain and his dead daughters. It involves accordion, some singing, a single videoprojection and spoken word. I show footage from my trip down the mississippi river with boat punks, and I wonder why it is I am longing for the lips of this great, dead, misogynist writer. The second is a similar piece about my experience working with a night crew on a wilderness fire in northern michigan. That piece is called “Sleeper Lake” and its quotes from two essays about the same fire: one written by me, and the other writtenby the night crew leader. There is a video projection for that one too…”
