About the importance of identifying themes of passion and working on them with consistency -on the example of Feel Dementia and then PEEK research project D. A. S. Dementia. Arts. Society.
When working on a subject with passion, some phenomena ensue. Ideally, one does not perceive the activity as work. This means that the time scale is different. The research work turns to become a hobby and one perceives the world with kind of a certain filter. Things or processes that previously have not, or at least not in this frequency been perceived, are noticed now.
Cornelia Bast and Antonia Eggeling talk about artistic research, dementia in the city and about contradictions between meritocracy and aging societies. They talk about their passion for these issues and outline, what they have already developed. They also give a preview to the PEEK project D.A.S. Dementia. Arts. Society. -Artistic Research on Patterns of Perception and Action in the context of an aging society. This project, led by Ruth Mateus-Berr and funded by the FWF for three years, is where Cornelia Bast and Antonia Eggeling are passionately working on since March 1st, 2016.
