Bye And Bye I’m Going To See The King, das neue Album der Band Heaven And, führt uns durch mystisch-surreale Akustiklandschaften. Schlagzeuger Steve Heather, zeitblom am Bass und Martin Siewert an der Gitarre sind alle drei anerkannte Größen in der Improvisations-Musikszene. Doch anders als in diesem Bereich sonst üblich verfremden sie ihre Liveimprovisationen durch bearbeitete musikalische Querverweise. So wird beispielsweise gekonnt mit Einflüssen aus archaischem Blues, Psychedelic-Rock, dem Sun Ra Arkestra und Miles Davis’ Elektro-Jazz geflirtet. Bye And Bye I’m Going To See The King, the new album by Heaven And, takes us through mystical-surreal acoustic soundscapes. Drummer Steve Heather, bassist zeitblom and guitarist Martin Siewert are all established figures of the improvisational music scene. But unlike other acts in this field, they distort their live improvisations through adapted musical cross-references. For example, they skillfully flirt with influences of African blues, psychedelic rock, the Sun Ra Arkestra and Miles Davis’ electro-jazz. On stage the trio stick what they’re known and loved for: no computer or sample sounds, analogue electronics only and lots and lots of excessive improvisation.
